In December 2007 a lost male rough coated Collie was turned over to Animal Control. After failed attempts to track down his owner and nobody looking for him, it was time to test his temperament and place him up for adoption. During the temperament test we quickly learned just how special this dog was and he quickly won the hearts of everyone at the shelter.

The staff conducted a vote and it was decided to name him TROOPER. He took to the name as fast as we fell in love with him. Trooper greets customers, goes to ICAC events, visits schools and nursing homes. Trooper can relax anywhere, lying on his back with his feet in the air either on a tile floor or on a sofa, he does not seem to mind.

So when you get an opporunity to visit the Animal Shelter in Mason ask to meet Trooper. He is there most days unless off doing a PR project or vacationing with me. You see Trooper no longer uses valuable cage space, he comes home with me every night and weekend. I am not sure who is luckier me or Trooper.
