The Ingham County Board of Commissioners met for their organizational meeting at the above time and place. The meeting was called to order by Ingham County Clerk, Mike Bryanton, at 7:05 p.m. Roll was called and all Commissioners-elect were present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Dave Stoker, County Attorney, led the Pledge of Allegiance and a few moments of silence were observed for meditation.
OATHS OF OFFICE:
Clerk Bryanton administered the Oath of Office to the Commissioners-elect; Eric Schertzing, the Ingham County Treasurer-elect and Paula Johnson, the Ingham County Register of Deeds-elect. Ms. Johnson then administered the Oath of Office to her Chief Deputy Robert Holcomb.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS:
Chairperson: Clerk Bryanton opened the floor for nominations to the office of Chairperson of the Board. Moved by Commissioner Schafer, supported by Commissioner Vickers to nominate Mark Grebner. There were no other nominations. By a unanimous voice vote, Commissioner Grebner was elected to the office of Chairperson.
Vice Chairperson: Chairperson Grebner opened the floor for nominations to the office of Vice Chairperson of the Board. Moved by Commissioner Thomas, supported by Commissioner Schafer to nominate Andy Schor. There were no other nominations. By a unanimous voice vote, Commissioner Schor was elected to the office of Vice Chairperson.
Vice Chairperson Pro-Tem: Chairperson Grebner opened the floor for nominations to the office of Vice Chairperson Pro-Tem. Moved by Commissioner Severino, supported by Commissioner Celentino to nominate Commissioner Schafer. There were no other nominations. By a unanimous voice vote, Commissioner Schafer was elected to the office of Vice Chairperson Pro-Tem.
PRESENTATION OF GAVEL TO COMMISSIONER CELENTINO:
Chairperson Grebner presented Commissioner Celentino with the gavel he had used during his term as Chairperson in 2004.
SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY:
Standing Committee Appointments: Chairperson Grebner offered the following committee appointments, with the first Commissioner named serving as Chairperson and the second Commissioner named serving as Vice Chairperson of each committee:
County Services Committee: Celentino, Copedge, De Leon, Schor, Severino and Vickers
Finance Committee: Dedden, Swope, Hertel, Schor, Thomas and Dougan
Human Services Committee: Hertel, Weatherwax-Grant, Celentino, Dedden, Holman and Severino

Law Enforcement Committee: De Leon, Nolan, Copedge, Thomas, Schafer and Vickers
Moved by Commissioner Thomas, supported by Commissioner Dougan to confirm the standing committee appointments. Motion carried unanimously.

Commissioner De Leon invited everyone to attend the Pastors United to Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King event at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15 at the Trinity AME Church, 3500 W. Holmes Road, Lansing.
Commissioner Copedge introduced his family and friends that were present.
Commissioner Nolan introduced her family that was present.
Commissioner Vickers introduced his family and friends that were present.
