INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION APPROVING THE BALLOT LANGUAGE FOR THE ELECTION/REFERENDUM FOR THE DETACHMENT OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM THE CITY OF WILLIAMSTON TO WILLIAMSTOWN TOWNSHIP

RESOLUTION #00-132

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners set August 8, 2000 as the election/referendum date for the qualified electors of the City of Williamston and Williamstown Township to consider detachment of certain property from the City of Williamston to Williamstown Township; and

WHEREAS, the Election Scheduling Committee has reviewed this date and determined that there are no election conflicts on this date; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners must authorize the ballot language for the detachment election/referendum to be placed on the August 8, 2000 ballot.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the following language for the August 8, 2000 election/referendum regarding the detachment of certain property from the City of Williamston to Williamstown Township:

A PROPOSAL FOR THE DETACHMENT OF CERTAIN TERRITORY FROM THE CITY OF WILLIAMSTON, INGHAM COUNTY, MICHIGAN TO WILLIAMSTOWN TOWNSHIP, INGHAM COUNTY, MICHIGAN

A proposal for the detachment of the portion of territory located in the City of Williamston to Williamstown Township, and which is generally located in that portion of the City of Williamston that is North of the Red Cedar River and is legally described as follows:

Part of the West 2 of Section 36 and the East 2 of Section 35, T.4 N.-R.1 E., City of Williamston, Ingham County, Michigan described as follows:
