Introduced by the Human Services, Administrative Services/Personnel, and Finance Committees of the:

INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

WHEREAS, the Ingham County FIA has $1.4 million for supportive programming during the summer for approximately 400 families who receive assistance through the Aid to Families with Dependant Children program; and

WHEREAS, one of the fiduciaries for the program, Capital Area Community Services (CACS) , is desirous of having the Health Department provide the health component for the children who will receive assistance through the program; and

WHEREAS, the health component consists of a required history and physical, hearing and vision screened, immunizations as needed and dental screening; and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer recommends that the Board of Commissioners authorizes the proposed agreement with Capital Area Community Service.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a contract with Capital Area Community Services for the purpose of having the Health Department provide the health component of Family Independence Agency Summer Programs for at-risk youth.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the period of the agreement shall be May 15, 2000 through September 30, 2000, and that CACS shall provide Ingham County with up to $15, 000 to support services provided through the contract.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Health Department is authorized to establish a full-time, temporary Nurse Practitioner position and a part-time, temporary community Health Representative II position.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the agreement after review by the County Attorney.
