Introduced by the Human Services and Finance Committees of the:

INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

WHEREAS, Ingham County has contracted with the Sparrow Health System for many years to provide physician staffing to Women= s Health Services; and

WHEREAS, the contract expired on December 31, 1999; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has authorized in Resolution No. 00-95, the extension of the terms and conditions of the agreement through June 30, 2000; and

WHEREAS, Sparrow Health System is acceptable to extending the agreement through December 31, 2000; and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer recommends that the Board of Commissioners authorize the extension of the physician staffing agreement with Sparrow Health System through December 31, 2000, with the understanding that a formal proposal process will be conducted to consider who should deliver these services for a new period beginning January 1, 2001.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the amendment of the physician services agreement with the Sparrow Health System, originally authorized by Resolution No. 97-142 and previously amended by Resolution No. 97-184 and Resolution No. 00-95.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amendment shall extend the agreement through December 31, 2000 according to the terms and conditions and compensation already included in the agreement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the agreement after review by the County Attorney.
