RESOLUTION HONORING JAY L. DONALDSON ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AS DIRECTOR OF THE MIS DEPARTMENT

RESOLUTION #00-176

WHEREAS, Jay L. Donaldson has been employed as the Director of the MIS Department for over twenty years; and

WHEREAS, during his years of service with Ingham County, Jay has seen the County through the era of typewriters into the new millennium with technology changing at a rapid pace; and

WHEREAS, under Jay= s leadership, the MIS Department has grown from a handful of employees housed within the Courthouse, into a vital department consisting of eighteen employees critical to the operation of County government; and

WHEREAS, over the years, Jay has diligently worked on numerous projects attempting to keep the County on the cutting edge of new technology, such as the County-wide network, internet, intranet, the SCI Financial, as well as the Tax and Equalization System, Courtview 2000, the IJIGS project, the Friend of the Court system, Datamaxx Cyberlinxx for the State Police LEIN System, Identix Network, elections, the county-wide voice response system, ensuring that the County= s computer systems were Y2K compliant and has taken on the role of Jury Administration; and

WHEREAS, Jay has also been a key player in the many construction projects throughout the County over the years ensuring that each building is equipped to handle the County= s current technology, most recently he has been involved with the Consolidated Courts Facility and the Video Arraignment System/Video Conferencing of the Courtrooms; and

WHEREAS, after more than twenty years as Director of the MIS Department, Jay will be retiring on August 14, 2000.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Jay L. Donaldson for his many years of dedicated service to the County of Ingham and extends its sincere appreciation for the countless contributions he has made to the citizens of Ingham County.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners extends its best wishes to Jay and hopes for continued success in his future endeavors.
