INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXTENDING AGREEMENTS WITH THE CITIES OF

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners is currently contracting with the Cities of Lansing and East Lansing for the Provision of 911 and Emergency Telephone Dispatch Service; and

WHEREAS, these contracts expired on June 30, 2000; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners contracted with the Northeast Ingham Emergency Services Authority for the Provision of 911 and Emergency Telephone Dispatch Service through December 31, 1999; and

WHEREAS, the 911 Emergency Telephone Dispatch Service Millage was renewed for the time period of 1996 through 1999; and

WHEREAS, the 911 Emergency Telephone Dispatch Service Millage reauthorization for the time period of 2000 through 2004 is scheduled for the August 8, 2000 Primary election; and

WHEREAS, the County and the various entities wish to extend these contracts for the current fiscal year.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes amendments extending the current 911 Emergency Telephone Dispatch Service Contracts between the County, the City of Lansing, and the City of East Lansing for the time period July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001 for the base allocations of:

City of East Lansing $ 960,645

City of Lansing $ 3,994,940

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes an amendment extending the 911 Emergency Telephone Dispatch Service Contract between the County and the Northeast Ingham Emergency Services Authority (NIESA) for the time period January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000 for an additional $ 36,822.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.

Lansing= s 1999/01 Budget number reflects the Contract amount. The City has advised us that it is artificially low because it did not contain the union wage increases that were not finalized at the time of the County 911 Contract.

The City is closing the 1999/00 books and will be requesting a supplemental appropriation.
