Introduced by the Law & Courts and Finance Committees of the:

INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney recognizes the priority of Victim Rights and has for over twenty years establishing a Victim/Witness Unit within the Prosecutor= s Office in 1979; and

WHEREAS, the State of Michigan Crime Victim Services has continued funding the Victim Rights Unit for fiscal year 2001. Total funding from the State of Michigan Department of Community Health being $188,600.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes entering into contract with the State of Michigan Department of Community Health for Crime Victim Services in the amount of $188,600 for the time period of October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to amend the Prosecuting Attorney= s 2000 and 2001 budget consistent with this resolution.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any contract agreements authorized by this resolution subject to review and approval as to form by the County Attorney.
