INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE 4C AGREEMENT WITH THE FAMILY

INDEPENDENCE AGENCY

RESOLUTION #00-218

WHEREAS, the Office for Young Children provides information and referral, training, and other services to day care organizations and to parents of children in Ingham, Clinton, Eaton and Shiawassee Counties; and

WHEREAS, the State of Michigan has provided financial support for these services for many years through State departments, and now through the Family Independence Agency; and

WHEREAS, the Michigan Family Independence Agency (FIA) has a contract with Ingham County for the period October 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000 for these purposes, and is proposing to amend the agreement to continue these services for Fiscal Year 2000-2001; and

WHEREAS, the FIA will provide $297,757 to support these services during the period October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001; and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the amendment.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an amendment to the 4C Agreement with the Michigan Family Independence Agency (FIA), authorized in Resolution #98-243, and amended by #99-250 and #00-043 .

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amendment shall continue the services of the Office for Young Children to provide child care resource and referral services for FIA clients targeted by Clinton, Eaton, and Shiawassee County as part of FIA Project Zero.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the maximum dollar amount available to Ingham County for the FY2001 shall be $297,757, representing an increase of $9,168 from the $288,589 available in FY2000.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the current grant funded, three-quarter time OYC Training Coordinator position (HLHOYC 008 - ICEA P5) will be increased to a full-time position for the duration of the Agreement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the MIS Director is authorized to purchase one desktop computer workstation and upgrades, for up to $3,000 to support the services delivered by the OYC.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Controller is authorized to amend the Health Department= s FY2001 budget to implement this resolution, and that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the amendment after review by the County Attorney.
