Introduced by the Human Services and Finance Committees of the:

INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Office for Young Children has since 1989, provided child care information and referral services to Michigan State University faculty, students, and staff; and

WHEREAS, Michigan State University has periodically requested and contracted for additional child care resource development and child care training services from the Office for Young Children; and

WHEREAS, Michigan State University has offered to compensate the Ingham County Office for Young Children for up to $9,000 for child care provider accreditation support services; and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize this Contract and advised that this revenue has already been anticipated in the FY 2001 budget.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a Professional Services Contract with Michigan State University to provide child care provider accreditation technical assistance and support services.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Agreement shall commence July 1, 2000 and end August 31, 2001 and set the rate of compensation at $1,000 per provider slot for up to $9,000.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the Contract after review by the County Attorney.
