RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT TWO SMALL GRANTS FOR THE BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER CONTROL PROGRAM
RESOLUTION #00-231
WHEREAS, Ingham County operates a regional Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) in several counties; and
WHEREAS, the Michigan Public Health Institute has awarded the regional BCCCP program a $15,000 grant to conduct outreach and recruitment efforts in Ionia, Oakland and Washtenaw Counties; and
WHEREAS, the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations has awarded the regional BCCCP program a $5,000 grant to enhance outreach in Oakland County; and
WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners accept these two small grants and authorize the grant contracts and an amendment to the subcontract with the American Cancer Society.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners accepts the $5,000 grant award from the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations, authorizes the grant agreement with the NABCO and authorizes an amendment to the subcontract with the American Cancer Society to implement expanded outreach activities in Oakland County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners accepts a $15,000 grant award from the Michigan Public Health Institute to expand program recruitment in Ionia, Oakland and Washtenaw Counties, and authorizes a grant agreement with the MPHI.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to amend the Health Department= s FY2000 and FY2001 budgets to implement this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the grant agreements and the subcontract amendment after review by the County Attorney.
