RESOLUTION #00-279

WHEREAS, Marilynn Slade began her career with the City of Lansing as its Chief Deputy Clerk in 1990; and

WHEREAS, in 1993, Marilynn was appointed as City Clerk after the retirement of Jim Blair; and

WHEREAS, after the resignation of City Clerk-Elect Sue Eby in 1994, Marilynn was again appointed to the City Clerk position; and

WHEREAS, in November of 1994, Marilynn was elected to the position and then re-elected in 1997; and

WHEREAS, the operation of the Clerk= s Office has dramatically improved under the leadership of Marilynn Slade, her staff utilized the first computer network in Lansing City Hall and the City of Lansing= s original web site was launched; and.

WHEREAS, Marilynn Slade is retiring from her position as Clerk for the City of Lansing.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Marilynn Slade on the event of her retirement and extends its sincere appreciation for her dedicated years of service to the residents of Ingham County, particularly those within the City of Lansing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes her continued success in her future endeavors.
