RESOLUTION TO RECOMMEND ACCEPTANCE OF A SMALL BOAT LAUNCH GRANT FROM THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

RESOLUTION #00-031

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Parks Department owns and operates the Lake Lansing Boat Launch; and

WHEREAS, a launching ramp is provided at this site for the launching of water craft onto Lake Lansing and is the only site on Lake Lansing where trailered water craft can be launched; and

WHEREAS, the launching ramp was originally installed during reconstruction of the park in 1980 and the condition of the ramp has deteriorated over time and is in need of replacement; and

WHEREAS, a grant from the Department of Natural Resources has been approved for the replacement of the ramp at the Lake Lansing Boat Launch in the amount of $27,000.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Parks Board recommends that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves entering into a contract to accept the funds from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Small Boat Launch Grant #SB 99-1.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approve funding of the required local match for the grant in the amount of $9,000 from contingency fund #10194100969220.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and County Clerk are authorized to sign the necessary contract after approval as to form by the County Attorney.
