RESOLUTION TO ALLOW CIRCUIT COURT - FAMILY DIVISION TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH HIGHFIELDS, INC. FOR THE START PROGRAM

RESOLUTION #00-312

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners set aside funds during the 2000 budget to establish a 12 bed short-term residential program with Highfields, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approved the total program cost of $675,746; and

WHEREAS, the administration of the Family Division, Highfields, Inc., Ingham County FIA and Community Mental Health collaboratively worked together to provide appropriate treatment and sanctions for a variety of youth in the juvenile justice and mental health systems in Ingham County.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes entering into a contract with Highfields, Inc. for a total cost not to exceed $675,746 to operate the Family Court Start Program from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2001.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to make the necessary adjustments as authorized by this resolution to the Child Care portion of the Family Division 2001 budget.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Board and County Clerk are authorized to sign any contract documents consistent with the resolution subject to the approval as to form by the County Attorney.
