Introduced by the Law & Courts and Finance Committees of the:

INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Family Court Division of the Circuit Court operates educational programs at the youth detention facility; and

WHEREAS, the Family Court Division of the Circuit Court has lost a portion of Title 1 Federal Funds, a funding source for the educational programs at the youth detention facility and have been unsuccessful in finding other funding replacement sources to maintain the educational programs at the current level; and

WHEREAS, the Family Court Division of the Circuit Court and Ingham County Board of Commissioners desire to keep the education program fully funded in 2001.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorize a contingency appropriation from the 2000 Contingency fund in the amount of $10,000 to the Family Court Division of the Circuit Court budget to restore full funding to the educational programs at the Ingham County Youth Center.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that funds are to be used for hiring certified teachers.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to make any necessary amendments to the 2000 and 2001 budgets in accordance with this resolution.
