INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT TO TWO MEN AND A TRUCK TO PERFORM MOVING SERVICES FOR THE NEW CONSOLIDATED COURTS FACILITY

RESOLUTION #00-314

WHEREAS, the new Consolidated Courts Facility will open July 2, 2001; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to move equipment and furniture into the new facility from several locations; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to store the surplus furniture from the County= s court systems at an offsite area where an auction of surplus furniture may take place; and

WHEREAS, the Office of Purchasing has solicited formally advertised Request for Proposals for moving services and for the storage of surplus furniture for the new Consolidated Courts Facility; and

WHEREAS, the Office of Purchasing received four responses to the Request for Proposals, and, after review and evaluation, is recommending that a contract be authorized with the lowest responder, Two Men And A Truck, to move furniture and equipment into the Consolidated Courts Facility and to store any surplus furniture at Two Men And A Truck= s warehouse for a period not exceeding two months; and

WHEREAS, it may also be necessary to move court furniture and equipment as a result of the relocation of certain judges in or prior to January, 2001.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a contract for moving services and for the short term storage of surplus furniture related to occupancy of the consolidated courts building in an amount not to exceed $64,700.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners authorizes an amendment to the contract, if deemed necessary by the County Controller, in an amount not exceeding $10,000, for moving services related to the relocation of certain judges in or prior to January 1, 2001.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funds for the contract shall be paid from the Purchasing and Properties Budget.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to make necessary budget adjustments within the Purchasing and Properties Department Budget for this purpose.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents for these moving and storage services approved as to form by the County Attorney and consistent with this resolution.
