INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

WHEREAS, Shirley Beckman began serving on the Ingham County Women= s Commission in December of 1997; and

WHEREAS, as Chairperson and Secretary, Shirley= s outstanding leadership has guided the Women= s Commission; and

WHEREAS, Shirley has assisted in the development and implementation of strategic planning initiatives to be utilized by the Women= s Commission, she took an active leadership role in the distribution of A The First Years Last Forever@ video to day care providers and physicians throughout Ingham County which signifies the importance of the relationship between the caregiver and child in the critical first years of life; and

WHEREAS, as well as being a great asset to the Women= s Commission, Shirley has previously served as an active member of the Ingham County Fair Board and Library Board.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Shirley Beckman for her outstanding service and the many contributions she has made to the community as a member of the Ingham County Women= s Commission, Fair Board and Library Board.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners sincerely appreciates Shirley= s dedication and the countless hours she has devoted toward improving the quality of life for the citizens of Ingham County and wishes her continued success in all of her future endeavors.
