RESOLUTION SETTING AN ELECTION/REFERENDUM DATE FOR THE DETACHMENT OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM THE CITY OF WILLIAMSTON TO WILLIAMSTOWN TOWNSHIP

RESOLUTION #00-039

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners has been presented with petitions requesting that a election/referendum date be set for the detachment of certain property from the City of Williamston to Williamstown Township; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners has reviewed the petitions and other accompanying material and has determined that the aforementioned petitions are valid and conform to the appropriate state statute.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners establish August 8, 2000 as the election/referendum date for the qualified electors of the City of Williamston and Williamstown Township to consider detachment of certain property from the City of Williamston to Williamstown Township.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Clerk will forward a copy of this resolution to the Election Scheduling Committee to insure there is no election conflicts on this date.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Clerk will forward a copy of this resolution to the respective Clerks of both the City of Williamston and Williamstown Township.
