RESOLUTION HONORING AGGIE CORNER

RESOLUTION #00-060

WHEREAS, Aggie Corner is a lifelong resident of Ingham County; and

WHEREAS, for thirty four years, Aggie was a teacher for the Mason School District; and

WHEREAS, in 1981, Aggie began a second career writing the A Aggie= s Corner@ column in the Ingham County News, retiring in 1999; and

WHEREAS, Aggie= s Corner was the key method of promoting positive news about the community, clubs, volunteer organizations, businesses, schools, and in particular the Rotary, Kiwanis and Optimists Club; and

WHEREAS, as a stalwart proponent and active member of the Mason Area Chamber of Commerce for more than 15 years, Aggie served as one of its first Ambassadors and held the position of Executive Director for 7 years; and

WHEREAS, as a result of her immeasurable amount of community service over the years, Aggie Corner is being honored by the Ingham County Community News as its first A Volunteer of the Year@ ; and

WHEREAS, the A Aggie Corner Volunteer of the Year Award@ will be presented to outstanding volunteers in the community annually.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby congratulate Aggie Corner on being selected as the Ingham County Community News= first A Volunteer of the Year@ and recipient of the A Aggie Corner Volunteer of the Year Award@ .

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board sincerely appreciates the dedication, devotion and contributions Aggie Corner has made to the community and the citizens of Ingham County.
