INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

WHEREAS, Ingham County is currently in the process of constructing an Integrated Courts Facility Building; and

WHEREAS, an integral part of that building is the inclusion of very sophisticated court technology systems; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County MIS Department on its own does not have all of the capabilities necessary to do the design and implementation of the sophisticated courtroom technology systems; and

WHEREAS, Ingham County has sent out a request for proposals and has picked a vendor from the responses.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approve a contract with Applied Legal Technologies, Inc. at a cost not to exceed $45,000, unless circumstances merit the additional costs, to assist the MIS Department in building the infrastructure and in some cases the courtroom technology that is to be incorporated into the new Consolidated Courts Facility in Lansing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the monies to cover the cost of this contract are included in the current MIS budget for the year 2000, under consulting services.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the chairperson of the Board and the County Clerk are authorized to sign the appropriate contract paperwork, pending approval by the County Attorney.
