RESOLUTION HONORING LOUIS ROMANO



RESOLUTION #03-130



WHEREAS, Louis Romano was employed with the Shorewood Public Schools, in North Shore, a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for 20 years; and



WHEREAS, for eight years he served as a sixth grade teacher at Lake Bluff School; and



WHEREAS, he then became Director of Instructional Services and Assistant Superintendent of the Shorewood School District; and



WHEREAS, Louis also served as Superintendent of Schools in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago; and



WHEREAS, upon relocating to Michigan, Louis has spent 30 years teaching at Michigan State University; and



WHEREAS, Louis also served on the Capital Area District Library Board and has received recognition for his work as an author of children's literature; and



WHEREAS, Louis Romano has been selected to receive the Shorewood School District's Tradition of Excellence Award; and



WHEREAS, this award is presented annually to individuals who have distinguished themselves in public service, the arts, the humanities, the sciences, academics, business, the professions, or who have committed themselves to serving others.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby congratulate Louis Romano as the recipient of the Shorewood School District's Tradition of Excellence Award and extends its sincere appreciation to him for the contributions he has made to the citizens of Ingham County.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him continued success in all of his future endeavors.
