INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO COLLECT A $10.00 FEE FOR ACCEPTING BONDS

PURSUANT TO HOUSE BILL #5047

RESOLUTION #03-021

WHEREAS, House Bill #5047 authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to collect a $10.00 fee for accepting a bond for anyone arrested on a warrant; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office routinely accepts bonds for persons arrested on warrants; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to House Bill #5047, the money collected may be expended by the governing body to defray the expense of receiving, depositing and delivering bail or bond money.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to collect a $10.00 fee for accepting bonds for anyone arrested on a warrant effective immediately upon the passage of this resolution

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to create a Line Item in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office revenue account that would recognize the collection of the fees for accepting bonds

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to make any necessary adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office 2003 Budget.
