RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT DONATIONS FOR DECONTAMINATION EQUIPMENT FROM COMPANIES FOR USE BY THE INGHAM REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
RESOLUTION #06-268
WHEREAS, Ingham Regional Medical Center has a portable decontamination unit that is made available to Ingham County residents involved with a potential chemical exposure requiring decontamination; and
WHEREAS, several companies have donated funds to the County for equipment associated with the portable decontamination unit; and
WHEREAS, the Local Emergency Planning Committee/HazMat Team budget has funds available from the Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant to be used for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the HazMat Team is interested in using the equipment for this purpose.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County HazMat Team/Local Emergency Planning Committee to accept the following donations to be used to partially fund the purchase of equipment associated with the portable decontamination unit (portable air heater unit with "y" splitter):
Aldi, Webberville $500.00
Huntsman Chemical, East Lansing $250.00
CSX, Railroad Company $500.00
Total $1,250.00
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County HazMat Team to expend up to $1,750 from the Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant, to be used in conjunction with the donations in the amount of $1,250 for a total of $3,000, to contract with Ingham Regional Medical Center to partially pay for the equipment associated with the portable decontamination unit in return for the HazMat Team being able to use the equipment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham Regional Medical Center will be responsible for the costs of the maintenance of the equipment.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners is appreciative of the donations and that appropriate acknowledgments be sent to the donor firms.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
