Finance Members:                    Victor Celentino, Tina Weatherwax-Grant, Mark Grebner, Curtis Hertel, Todd Tennis and Steve Dougan

Members Absent:                     None

Others Present:                         Matthew Myers, Tony Lindsey, David Stoker and Rebecca Bahar-Cook

The meeting was called to order by Chairpersons DeLeon and Celentino at 7:18 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room of the Ingham County Courthouse, Mason.

1.         Human Resources Department – Resolution Authorizing Preparation of Letters of Agreement with Bargaining Units to Accept the Recommendation of the Ingham Health Coalition for Employee Benefits in 2008

Comm. Nolan asked how long the discussions took before this issue was resolved.  Mr. Myers stated an agreement was reached promptly. The original numbers were cut in half.  Comm. Copedge asked if the unions are happy with this agreement.  Mr. Myers stated the unions and their members are pleased with the agreement. 

Comm. Dougan asked about the financial agreement.  Mr. Myers stated the County will fund approximately $200,000 of the overall cost for the healthcare plans.  A determination of where the funds will come from will be made toward the end of this year.  The funds will come from either the contingency fund or the insurance fund or a combination of both funds.

MOVED BY COMM. NOLAN, SUPPORTED BY COMM. COPEDGE, TO APPROVE THE RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF LETTERS OF AGREEMENT WITH BARGAINING UNITS TO ACCEPT THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE INGHAM HEALTH COALITION FOR EMPLOYEE BENEFITS IN 2008.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

Finance:

MOVED BY COMM. HERTEL, SUPPORTED BY COMM. TENNIS, TO APPROVE THE RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF LETTERS OF AGREEMENT WITH BARGAINING UNITS TO ACCEPT THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE INGHAM HEALTH COALITION FOR EMPLOYEE BENEFITS IN 2008.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
