The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Hertel at 6:35 p.m. in the Personnel Conference Room of the Human Resources Building, 5303 S. Cedar, Lansing.
Approval of the December 4, 2006 Minutes
MOVED BY COMM. BAHAR-COOK, SUPPORTED BY COMM. TENNIS TO APPROVE THE DECEMBER 4, 2006 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY. Absent: Comm. Schor
Additions to the Agenda

(Comm. Schor arrived at 6:38 p.m.)
Mr. Hailey reviewed the process for the interviews. The Committee held a brief discussion regarding the process.
(COMM. BAHAR-COOK DISCLOSURED THAT DR. SIENKO IS ON A BOARD WHICH SHE HAS A CONTRACT WITH FOR HER DAY JOB.)
Interview 1 – 6:50 p.m.
The Committee interviewed Dr. Sienko, George Pitchett and Thomas Gecewicz (via telephone) for the Ingham County Health Officer position.
Discussion on Interviews and the Next Steps
MOVED BY COMM. GREBNER, SUPPORTED BY COMM. BAHAR-COOK, TO RECOMMEND DR. DEAN SIENKO FOR THE INGHAM COUNTY HEALTH OFFICER POSITION. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Staff will draft a resolution reflecting this Committee’s recommendation.
Mr. Hailey stated he will send a letter to the remaining two applicants informing them of this Committee’s recommendation.
The Committee stated the other two applicants were well-qualified.
Announcements
Mr. Neilsen informed the Committee that Mr. Porter died January 21, 2007.
