INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION NAMING THE CONSOLIDATED COURTS FACILITY "THE

INGHAM COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL COURTHOUSE IN LANSING"

RESOLUTION #01-153

WHEREAS, veterans are comprised of every race, nationality, religion and sex, and have honorably served their country in the pursuit of liberty and justice; and

WHEREAS, throughout the history of the United States men and women have made ultimate sacrifices making the freedoms we enjoy possible; and

WHEREAS, naming a building in honor of the veterans would be a fitting tribute for those who have served their country and for those who gave their lives for their country; and

WHEREAS, the addition of the new consolidated courts facility provides an excellent opportunity to keep the memory of our veterans alive.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby recommends to the Joint Building Authority naming the new consolidated courts facility as "the Ingham County Veterans Memorial Courthouse in Lansing".
