RESOLUTION APPROVING A 3% SALARY INCREASE AND EMPLOYEE-PAID RETIREMENT IMPROVEMENTS IN 2002 FOR COUNTY-WIDE ELECTED OFFICIALS



RESOLUTION #01-225



WHEREAS, Resolution #01-203, permitted managerial employees to purchase the B4 and FAC3 retirement improvements and included that County-wide Elected Officials (i.e., County Clerk, Drain Commissioner, Prosecuting Attorney, Register of Deeds, Sheriff, and Treasurer) may also purchase these benefits; and

WHEREAS, the MERS actuarial indicates that the cost for providing the B4 and FAC3 to constitutional elected officials is 3.46%; and



WHEREAS, payment for these improvements shall be made by increasing the mandatory employee contribution rate; and



WHEREAS, the pay increase for elected officials shall be three per cent (3%) effective January 1, 2002.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that effective January 1, 2002, County-wide Elected Officials will be provided with the B4 and the FAC3.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the mandatory employee contribution rate shall be increased from 5% to 8.46% to pay for said improvements.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a three per cent (3%) salary increase be approved to be effective January 1, 2002:
