RESOLUTION TO CONSTRUCT A LACTATING STATION AT THE

INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

RESOLUTION # 01-291

WHEREAS, the work force at the Sheriff's Office has significantly increased related to the number of women employed; and

WHEREAS, a Lactating Station constructed at the Sheriff's Office would allow female employees to return to work sooner and would further allow them to provide better health care for themselves and their child; and

WHEREAS, it would cost approximately $4,000.00 to reconstruct a restroom and to purchase the necessary equipment to provide for a Lactating Station.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes up to $4,000 from the 2001 Contingency Fund to construct a Lactating Station for the Ingham County Sheriff's Office.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that should the costs of the Lactating Station project exceed the aforementioned $4,000, any excess funds will come from the Sheriff's 2001 budget.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners supports the Sheriff and the Sheriff's Office in its support of female employees as it relates to the concern of their health and the health of their children.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to make the necessary adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office and other appropriate 2001 Budgets.
