INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A PREFABRICATED HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE STORAGE FACILITY FROM SAFETY STORAGE, INC.

RESOLUTION #01- 303

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has authorized a contract of a Clean Sweep Pesticide Collection Program Agreement with the Michigan Department of Agriculture; and

WHEREAS, this grant contributes to the expansion of the County's household hazardous waste collection program; and

WHEREAS, the program expansion will require the acquisition of a prefabricated household hazardous waste storage facility to be installed on the grounds of the Ingham County Human Services facility; and

WHEREAS, Health Department staff have been working with the Purchasing Department staff to determine the storage facility required; and

WHEREAS, the Health Department and the Purchasing Department have agreed on a proposal from Safety Storage, Inc. for a prefabricated storage facility that will cost approximately $44,285; and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer is recommending that the Board of Commissioners authorize the purchase of the prefabricated household hazardous waste facility from Safety Storage, Inc.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners authorizes a contract with Safety Storage, Inc. to obtain a prefabricated household hazardous waste facility, at a cost not to exceed $44,285.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents that are consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
