RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO A MUTUAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AID AGREEMENT WITH THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF MERIDIAN AND THE MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT



RESOLUTION #01-308



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office has entered into several Mutual Aid Law Enforcement Agreements between bordering jurisdictions; and



WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has a Mutual Aid Law Enforcement Agreement with Meridian Township that expires in December, 2001; and



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office and Meridian Township desire to continue in a Mutual Law Enforcement Aid Agreement.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to enter into a Mutual Law Enforcement Aid Agreement with the Meridian Township Police Department effective January 1, 2002 to continue in effect unless either party terminates the agreement with 30 days written notice.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any contracts approved as to form by Corporation Counsel and consistent with this resolution.
