RESOLUTION HONORING HARRY DENT

RESOLUTION #01-360

WHEREAS, Harry Dent began his employment with General Motors in September of 1970; and

WHEREAS, for the past 7 years he has served as the Emergency Response Chief in Plants 1 and 3; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure with General Motors, Harry has also been a member of the United Auto Workers, Local 652, serving on its Executive Board for 12 years; and

WHEREAS, for the past 29 years, Harry has volunteered as a firefighter with the Lansing Township Fire Department, and is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician; and

WHEREAS, over the years, Harry has been actively involved with numerous organizations such as the Michigan State Firefighters Association, the Lansing Township Firefighters Association, Alert Firefighter Association, UAW Local 652 Employee Assistance Program, Precinct Delegate and member of the Ingham County Democratic Party; and

WHEREAS, after 31 years of service with General Motors and 29 years of service with the Lansing Township Fire Department, Harry Dent is retiring from these positions.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Harry Dent for his 31 years of service with General Motors and his 29 years of service with the Lansing Township Fire Department.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board extends its sincere appreciation to Harry for his dedication to the community and the many contributions he has made to the citizens of Ingham County and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.
