RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE 2000-2001 AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY



RESOLUTION #01-88



WHEREAS, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) contracts with Ingham County to arrange for certain environmental health services provided by the Health Department; and



WHEREAS, the County and the MDEQ entered into an agreement for the period October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001 for services related to:



Noncommunity Water Supply

Long Term Monitoring

Randon

Swimming Pools

Source Water Assessment

On-Site Sewage

Drinking Water Supply; and



WHEREAS, the MDEQ has advised that it would like to purchase additional services from the Health Department in the Source Water Assessment Program; and



WHEREAS, the Health Officer has advised that the purchase of services benefits Ingham County and Ingham County residents as well as the State of Michigan, and recommends that the Board of Commissioners authorize the amendment of the 2000-2001 Agreement with the MDEQ.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an amendment to the 2000-2001 Contract between the State of Michigan, Department of Environment Quality and the Ingham County Health Department.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amendment shall modify the services to be provided in the Source Water Assessment Program and shall increase the funding to be made available by the State of Michigan to Ingham County by $4,000, from $1,878 to $5,878.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the MIS Director is authorized to purchase computer equipment and software to support the Source Water Assessment Program, not to exceed $3,000.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to amend the Health Department's 2001 budget to implement this resolution.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the amendment after review by the County Attorney.
