RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH ROYAL ROOFING COMPANY, INC. FOR REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF ROOF AT THE

HUMAN SERVICES FACILITY

RESOLUTION #02-223

WHEREAS, the roof at the Human Services Facility is deteriorating and in need of replacement; and

WHEREAS, the funds for this project Replacement Roof/Human Services Facility - Phase 1 are approved and available within the appropriate CIP distribution; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department solicited interested and qualified private and commercial vendors for the purpose of removing and replacing approximately 30,000 square feet of roof at the Human Services Facility; and

WHEREAS, the contract price is based on the cost per square (10' x 10') of $197.03 for labor and materials to remove and replace the roof and cost per square foot (1' x 1') for labor and materials to remove and install polyisocyanurate board insulation; and

WHEREAS, prevailing wages are also reflected in the cost; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department concurs with the Facilities Department that a contract not to exceed $120,000.00 be awarded to Royal Roofing Company, Inc., who submitted the lowest responsive and most responsible proposal.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a contract not to exceed $120,000.00 be awarded to Royal Roofing Company, Inc., 2445 Brown Road, Orion, Michigan 48359 to remove and replace approximately 30,000 sq. ft. of roof at the Human Services Facility.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the County Attorney to prepare the necessary documents with the Board Chairperson and County Clerk to sign the same.
