INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A SERVICE CONTRACT

WITH THE EXPECTANT PARENTS ORGANIZATION

RESOLUTION #98-101

WHEREAS, Ingham County provides prenatal care services to approximately 800 low income women each year through the Health Department's Prenatal Clinic; and

WHEREAS, expectant parents education is an important aspect of the service; and

WHEREAS, the county has for many years provided for expectant parents education through a contract for services with the Expectant Parents Organization; and

WHEREAS, funds are included in the Health Department's 1998 budget to support this service and the Health Officer is recommending that this contractual relationship be continued during the period January 1, 1998 through December 31, 1999.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a service contract with the Expectant Parents Organization to provide education and training to expectant parents who are clients of the Health Department's Prenatal Clinic.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the period of the service contract shall be January 1, 1998 through December 31, 1999.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Expectant Parents Organization shall be compensated up to $8,455 in 1998 and $8,624 in 1999 for services provided under the agreement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the agreement after review by the County Attorney.
