INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE TEEN PARENT AGREEMENT

WITH THE FAMILY INDEPENDENCE AGENCY

RESOLUTION #98-126

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners authorized a Teen Parent Program Agreement with the Family Independence Agency in Resolution No. 97-139, amended by Resolution No. 97-292; and

WHEREAS, the Family Independence Agency has proposed to amend the agreement to provide an additional $8,000 in funding and to expand the level of service; and

WHEREAS, the additional funds will allow the Health Department to increase the hours of work of Peer Educators and to support services to an additional 20 teen parents.

WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the amendment.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an amendment to the Teen Parent Program Grant Agreement authorized by Resolution No. 97-139 and amended by Resolution No. 97-292.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amendment shall increase the State funding by $8,000 from $112,500 to $120,500.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to amend the Health Department's 1998 budget to implement the resolution.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the agreement after review by the County Attorney.
