INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO ERECT A MEMORIAL STATUE TO ALL LAW

ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS WHO HAVE DIED IN THE LINE OF DUTY

IN THE COUNTY OF INGHAM

RESOLUTION #98-129

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office believes it is important that we recognize all law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty in the County of Ingham; and

WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to erect a memorial statue honoring these officers; and

WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to privately raise funds to pay for the memorial statue; and

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that a memorial statue honoring these officers will cost in the neighborhood of $40,000.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to accept donations from private individuals to erect a statue at the Ingham County Sheriff's Office, memorializing those officers who were killed in the line of duty in the County of Ingham.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes Financial Services and Budgeting to make the necessary adjustments for accounting purposes for these funds to be deposited into.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Chairperson and County Clerk to sign all necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
