INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH THE STATE OF MICHIGAN, MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS (MDOC) FOR ADDITIONAL PROBATION RESIDENTIAL SERVICES FUNDS TO ACCOMMODATE AN INCREASE IN THE PER DIEM RATE

RESOLUTION #98-130

WHEREAS, the Michigan Community Corrections Act of 1988 (PA511) authorizes the establishment of a Community Corrections Advisory Board (CCAB) and provides funding for Community Corrections programming; and

WHEREAS, a Comprehensive Community Corrections Plan and FY 1997-1998 Funding Application was approved by the CCAB, Ingham County Board of Commissioners, Lansing City Council, and State Office of Community Corrections; and

WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Community Corrections Plan and FY 1997-1998 Funding Application provided for Probation Residential Services programming; and

WHEREAS, the original FY 1997 - 1998 contract awarded by the State of Michigan - MDOC provided a total of $546,782 at a per diem rate of $38.00 per day for probation residential services; and

WHEREAS, a contract amendment was subsequently entered with the State of Michigan - MDOC to allow for an increase in the per diem rate payable to PRS vendors with PA511 funds from $38 to $40 per day; and

WHEREAS, additional PA511 funds in the amount of $16,824 are now being provided through a contract amendment by the State of Michigan - MDOC to accommodate the increase in the per diem rate and increase overall PRS funds accordingly from $546,782 to $563,606 for the October 1, 1997 through September 30, 1998 contract period; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes

entering a contract amendment with the State of Michigan - MDOC to increase the overall amount of PA511 funds for probation residential services for the period of October 1, 1997 through September 30, 1998.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the total of all probation residential services reimbursements for all subcontracting probation residential services vendors shall not exceed Ingham County's overall funding allocation for these services of $563,606.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners and County Clerk are authorized to sign any contract and/or subcontract authorized by this resolution, subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney.
