RESOLUTION HONORING SERGEANT TRENTON A. TAYLOR
RESOLUTION #98-137
WHEREAS, Trenton Taylor began his employment with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office in August of 1974; and
WHEREAS, in September 1976, he attended Lansing Community College and graduated from the first sponsored paramedic program, and continued as a Deputy Paramedic until February of 1990 when he was assigned to the Road Shift Command, in February of 1996 he was transferred to the Delhi Division; and
WHEREAS, in February of 1997, Trenton Taylor became the Program Manager of the Emergency Services for Ingham County; and
WHEREAS, Trenton Taylor is the recipient of three meritorious service awards from the Sheriff's Office, as well as three certificates of appreciation, in 1985 he was named "Police Officer of the Year" by the Red Cedar Optimist Club, in 1987-88, he received the first ever "Paramedic of the Year" award from the Tri-County Emergency Medical Council; and
WHEREAS, in 1989, he was named Police Officer of the Year" for the State of Michigan from Grand Voiture Du Michigan, in 1990 he was named one of the top 13 deputies in the United States by the National Sheriff's Association in Washington, D.C; and
WHEREAS, in 1990, Trenton Taylor founded the Ingham County Sheriff's Office Chaplaincy Corps. and in 1992, organized the dedication of the POW-MIA flag that flies today under the American Flag in front of the Sheriff's Office and Correctional Facility; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Trenton Taylor retired from his position at the Ingham County Sheriff's Office.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Sergeant Trenton Taylor for his many years of service to the County of Ingham and its citizens.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.
