RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING A GRANT CONTRACT WITH THE OFFICE OF DRUG CONTROL POLICY FOR THE INGHAM COUNTY/LANSING POLICE DEPARTMENT

RESOLUTION #98-158

WHEREAS, a grant was submitted to the Office of Drug Control Policy (ODCP) to access Byrne Grant funds for the purpose of providing an automation link between Ingham County and the Lansing Police Department; and

WHEREAS, grant funds have been awarded in the amount of $30,000 to complete the proposed project contingent upon a local match in the amount of $17,533; and

WHEREAS, the IJIGS Committee has approved the use of $8,767 out of the IJIGS budget to be used for Ingham County's share of the local match amount; and

WHEREAS, the Lansing Police Department committed to providing $8,766 for its share of the local match amount.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves entering into a contract with the Office of Drug Control Policy through September 30, 1998 in the amount of $47,533, of which $30,000 are ODCP Byrne Grant Funds with a total local match amount of $17,533 to be shared by Ingham County in the amount of $8,767 and the Lansing Police Department in the amount of $8,766.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Ingham County's match amount is contingent upon the Lansing Police Department's agreed upon contribution of $8,766.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract documents with the Office of Drug Control Policy and the City of Lansing consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
