INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A NEW FOOD SERVICE AND LAUNDRY FACILITY AT THE INGHAM COUNTY JAIL

RESOLUTION #98-161

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorized a study of the adequacy of the current Ingham County Jail Food Services and Laundry Facilities by Wigen, Tincknell, Meyer & Associates; and

WHEREAS, the Architectural firm of Wigen, Tincknell, Meyer & Associates assembled a team including Cii Food Service Design and Engineering Applications, Inc. to assist them in this study; and

WHEREAS, Wigen, Tincknell, Meyer & Associates have completed their study and are recommending constructing a new kitchen/laundry area north of the existing building; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has approved Resolution #98-50 "RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PLANS, COST ESTIMATE, ESTIMATE OF THE PERIOD OF USEFULNESS AND LEASE CONTRACT FOR VARIOUS PROJECTS" which authorized the potential of borrowing the funds for the new kitchen/laundry facility as part of the Community Mental Health bond issue subject to final approval by the Board of Commissioners.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Building Authority to proceed with financing and construction of a new Ingham County Jail Food Services and Laundry Facility as recommended the May 28, 1998 "INGHAM COUNTY JAIL, PROPOSED FOOD SERVICE AND LAUNDRY FACILITY" report by Wigen, Tincknell, Meyer & Associates at a cost not to exceed $3,200,000.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Chairperson and County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
