RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN AMENDMENT TO THE SCHOOL

SUSPENSION ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM AGREEMENT



RESOLUTION #98-211



WHEREAS, the City of Lansing and Ingham County cooperated to develop a proposal to the Family Independence Agency to implement a school suspension alternative program; and



WHEREAS, the City of Lansing has contracted with Ingham County to have services delivered through the Otto Middle School Community Health Center; and



WHEREAS, the City of Lansing is proposing to amend the agreement to modify the budget and to extend the period of the agreement through October 31, 1998 because the program started late and funds are available to make this adjustment; and



WHEREAS, the Health Officer advises that this service will not affect the County appropriation to the Health Department and recommends that the Board of Commissioners authorize the agreement.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an amendment to the agreement with the City of Lansing to implement a school suspension alternative program through the Otto Middle School Community Health Center.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the period of the agreement authorized in Resolution No. 97-204, September 1, 1997 through September 30, 1998, shall be extended through October 31, 1998 and that the amount the City of Lansing will reimburse Ingham County through the agreement for program related expenditures shall be adjusted from $46,540 to $39,490.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the part-time Assistant Social Worker position (HLHADO016 ) which was changed to full-time status for the duration of the agreement, shall continue in that status through October 31, 1998.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the special part-time Clerk-Typist II position (HLHADO018) which was created for the duration of the agreement, shall be continued through October 31, 1998.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the amendment after review by the County Attorney.
