INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SIXTY-MONTH AGREEMENT WITH TCI NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC. TO PROVIDE FIBER BETWEEN THE FIVE PRIMARY CAMPUSES OF THE INGHAM COUNTY WIDE AREA NETWORK

RESOLUTION #98-225

WHEREAS, Ingham County through the MIS Department currently has in place a sixty-month agreement for fiber services beginning in November of 1994 with Ameritech that provides both voice and data services; and

WHEREAS, Ingham County wishes to increase the band width of their fiber communications for data and image transfer from the current 10MB per second (MBPS) to 155 MB per second service; and

WHEREAS, the solution proposed by TCI Network Solutions, Incorporated can provide the requested 155MB per second services along with four voice or video quality T1s at each site.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a sixty-month contract agreement with TCI Network Solutions, Incorporated guaranteeing Ingham County with a 155MB per second service for each of the five sites along with four T1 video or voice connections.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this service from TCI Network Solutions, Incorporated includes maintenance and response time in the area of four hours for any outage of the equipment over the sixty-month period.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the sixty-month contract with TCI Network Solutions, Incorporated with a monthly cost of $8,600.00, per month and a one time installation charge of $7,000.00.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk are authorized to sign the necessary agreements after to approval as to form by the County Attorney.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the County Controller is authorized to make the necessary budget adjustments.
