RESOLUTION #98-254
WHEREAS, the Ingham County Park Facility Master Plan was developed under the direction of
the Ingham County Board of Commissioners to establish a systematic plan to meet the goal of
providing adequate recreational facilities for the residents of Ingham County; and
WHEREAS, funds have been reserved for the development of Hawk Island County Park; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing & Properties Department solicited and received proposals for
professional architectural and engineering services for the design and construction of Hawk Island
County Park in two phases; and
WHEREAS, it is the joint recommendation of the Purchasing Coordinator, the Parks Department
Director, and the Parks Board that a contract be awarded to Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber
of Lansing, Michigan in an amount not to exceed $180,500.00 for professional architectural and
engineering services related to the development of Hawk Island County Park.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes
a contract with Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber of Lansing, Michigan for architectural and
engineering services required in the development of Hawk Island County Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the fixed fee to be paid for Phase I of the project shall be
$89,500.00, and that the Phase II fee shall not exceed $91,000.00 but may be renegotiated if
there is a reduction in the scope of Phase II, for a total contract price which shall not exceed
$180,500.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Ingham County Board of
Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any contract documents consistent
with this resolution, subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney.
