INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INGHAM COUNTY YOUTH CENTER TO ACCEPT DONATIONS OF USED COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE FOR USE BY YOUTH CENTER RESIDENTS AND STAFF FOR TEACHING AND DEVELOPMENT OF COMPUTER SKILLS

RESOLUTION #98-44

WHEREAS, EDS is willing to donate used computer equipment and software for use by the Ingham County Youth Center residents and staff for teaching and development of computer skills; and

WHEREAS, the Administrative staff of the Youth Center has developed a usage plan for the computers; and

WHEREAS, the computer equipment will be the sole responsibility of the Youth Center regarding maintenance and repairs; and

WHEREAS, EDS does not require or expect return of unneeded or unusable computer equipment and the cost to the Youth Center will be for educational software only.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Youth Center to accept this used equipment donation of eight 386 sx/33 personal computers from EDS, which are worth approximately $300 a piece or for a total of $2,400, for use in the Youth Center as provided by the Board.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Youth Center Director will monitor the use of the donated equipment and report as required to the Administrative Services/Personnel Committee on the status of the computer equipment.
