RESOLUTION TO CLARIFY THE ORGANIZATION OF SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT RESOURCES IN THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND TO RECLASSIFY A POSITION
RESOLUTION #98-55
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Environmental Health administers the County's responsibilities to enforce the State's solid waste management statutes, the Ingham County Sanitary Code and the Ingham County Solid Waste Management Plan, and additionally supports the activities of the Ingham County Solid Waste Management Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Health Bureau is organized with a Special Programs Unit, within which are located the resources to support solid waste management activities along with the resources to deal with hazardous and toxic materials and pollution prevention, all under the supervision of the Special Programs Chief, Jim Wilson; and
WHEREAS, the Special Programs Unit has a vacant Solid Waste Management Coordinator position (ICEA Professional 05); and
WHEREAS, the Health Officer is recommending that the vacant Solid Waste Management Coordinator position be reclassified to clarify that the coordination functions for solid waste management reside with the Special Programs Chief and to allow the Bureau to spread the staff work for solid waste management among several positions in the Sanitarian series (Sanitarian I and Sanitarian II).
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a reclassification of position HLHENV025 from ICEA Professional 05 and a job title of Solid Waste Management Coordinator into the Sanitarian series as ICEA Professional 03 and a job title of Sanitarian I, effective March 1, 1998.
