RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE ENTERING INTO A SUBCONTRACT WITH

ALTERNATIVE DIRECTIONS, INC., FOR PROBATION RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

RESOLUTION #98-57

WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Community Corrections Plan and the FY 1997-1998 Application for State Community Corrections Grant Funds, both approved by the Ingham County Board of Commissioners, City of Lansing, and State of Michigan, included funding for probation residential services; and

WHEREAS, Ingham County subcontracts for the provision of probation residential services; and

WHEREAS, Alternative Directions, Inc., (Grand Rapids, MI) is willing to provide probation residential services for eligible Ingham County offenders on a case-by-case referral\space available basis, at the per diem rate of $40.00 per day for FY 1997-1998 (October 1, 1997 through September 31, 1998); and

WHEREAS, the Alternative Directions, Inc. Program will provide an additional probation residential programming resource and sentencing option to be utilized for Ingham County offenders in lieu of or in reduction of jail time.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes

entering into a subcontract with Alternative Directions, Inc. for the provision of probation residential services on a case-by-case referral\space available basis, at a per diem rate of $40.00 per day for the period of October 1, 1997 through September 31, 1998.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the total of all probation residential services reimbursements for all subcontracting probation residential services vendors shall not exceed Ingham County's overall funding allocation for these services of $546,782.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners and County Clerk are authorized to sign any contract and/or subcontract authorized by this resolution, subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney.
