RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF BROCHURE PRINTING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOINT I-96 CORRIDOR PROJECT BETWEEN THE INGHAM COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, THE LIVINGSTON COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, DETROIT EDISON, AND CSX RAILROAD

RESOLUTION #98-65

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Economic Development Corporation has been working cooperatively with the Livingston County Economic Development Corporation, Detroit Edison, and CSX Railroad to develop the I-96 Corridor Project to promote economic development along this corridor between Lansing and Brighton; and

WHEREAS, in order to promote development of the corridor, promotional literature needs to be developed ad disseminated which touts the resources and other advantages of economic growth and development between these two cities on the corridor, and to encourage its consideration in future job growth and business development activities; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to subsidize the EDC's efforts to achieve this project, as it has been designated a priority within their work plan for 1998.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the expenditure of up to $6,000 from its contingency fund to help subsidize the county's EDC cost of printing 7,500 promotional brochures for the I-96 Corridor development project.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is hereby authorized to make the necessary budget adjustments consistent with this resolution.
