RESOLUTION TO AMEND A 1997-98 AGREEMENT WITH THE MICHIGAN

DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY



RESOLUTION #98-69



WHEREAS, Ingham County and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) entered into an agreement to conduct several environmental services during 1997-98; and



WHEREAS, the MDEQ has proposed additional funding to support the enhancement of services through the Non-Community Public Water Supply Program; and



WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the amendment of the 1997-98 agreement with the MDEQ.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an amendment to the 1997-98 Agreement with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, authorized in Resolution No. 97-289.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amendment shall provide Ingham County with an additional $6,240 to expand the source water assessment activity within the non-community public water supply program.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the additional services will allow the County to identify sources of potential pollution and to accurately locate the water wells for mapping purposes.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to amend the Health Department's 1998 budget to implement this resolution.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Health Department is authorized, using the County's purchasing policies, to purchase a Global Position System and a 21" color monitor.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the amendment after review by the County Attorney.
