RESOLUTION HONORING MARY BLOOD
RESOLUTION #98-74
WHEREAS, Mary Blood has been employed with the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau since January 28, 1968; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Mary has served as Acting Director, Associate Director, and Office Manager, directing and assisting in convention sales, tourism, housing, membership and community relations; and
WHEREAS, the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau annual meetings, holiday open house, membership golf outings and Light the City Campaign have all been spearheaded by Mary; and
WHEREAS, Mary has also served on many community organizations, Board of Directors and committees, which include the Michigan Parades into the 21st Century, Riverfest, Silver Bells in the City, Light the City, Lansing Sister City Commission, Michigan Festival, Fourth of July and Apple Pie Celebration, the Oldsmobile 100th Anniversary Committee and FestEve.; and
WHEREAS, she also chaired the fundraising efforts for Oldsmobile Park, raising $94,000 within a five week period of time; and
WHEREAS, after 30 years of dedicated service, Mary retired from the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau on March 6, 1998.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Mary Blood for her years of service to the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau and the citizens of Ingham County and express its sincere appreciation for her many contributions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the members of the Board of Commissioners extend their congratulations and best wishes to Mary Blood on the occasion of her retirement.
