RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH INTERCEPT SECURITY, INC. FOR SECURITY SERVICES AT TOWN CENTER



RESOLUTION #98-75



WHEREAS, it has been determined that a qualified unarmed private security guard is needed to monitor entry into the Town Center Circuit Court area in downtown Lansing; and



WHEREAS, funds have been approved and budgeted within the 1998 budget for this contract; and



WHEREAS, based on the existing agreements between the County and Intercept Security, Inc. to provide such services at both the Grady J. Porter Building and Lansing City Hall the Purchasing & Properties Department recommends entering into a contract for security services at Town Center; and



WHEREAS, the agreement period would be April 1, 1998 through March 31, 1999 under the same conditions and terms of the existing contracts for City Hall and the Grady Porter Building, to start at a rate of $9.40 per hour for a total of 50 hours per week Monday through Friday except for weekends and holidays.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes entering into a contract with Intercept Security, Inc. for unarmed guard services to monitor entry into the Town Center Circuit Court area at an hourly rate of $9.40 for 50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, except weekends and holidays starting April 1, 1998 through March 31, 1999.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the County Attorney to prepare the necessary documents with the Board Chairperson and County Clerk to sign the same.
